## FAQ and Quick Solutions
### 1. Import seems stuck or too slow
- Check that you have granted access to the **Photo Library** or **Files** in:
  - iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos / Files.
- If importing from an **external drive** or **SD card**:
  - ensure the media is properly connected;
  - verify it has external power if necessary.
- Check the progress in the **Dynamic Island** or **Lock Screen**: Classiphy displays a Live Activity with a real-time progress bar and image counter.
- If the progress bar remains stuck for a long time:
  - force close and reopen the app;
  - the import will resume or complete, and unused temporary files will be cleaned up.
### 2. I see "duplicates" of some images
Classiphy uses cryptographic hashes (SHA-256) to avoid importing the exact same file twice.
However, if you edit a file externally (e.g., with another editor), the content changes
and it will be considered a new shot.
In short:
- exact same binary file → recognized as duplicate and not re-imported;
- modified or exported file with different settings → considered a distinct file.
### 3. I cannot export images
To export images:
1. Make sure you have selected **at least one photo** in the current view.
2. Verify the app is not currently in the middle of an import process.
3. If you want to save to the **Photo Library**, double-check you granted write permission:
   - iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Classiphy > Allow Full Access (or specifically Write Access).
To export to **Files** or external drives:
- use the export option and choose the destination folder via the iOS document picker;
- ensure the external drive is properly connected and visible in the Files app.
### 4. I get an "Access Denied" alert during import
This means iOS has denied the app access to your selected source (Photos or Files).
- Tap the **"Settings"** button on the alert (if present) to open the Settings screen directly;
- or go manually to:
  - Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos / Files > Classiphy
    and enable the necessary permissions.
### 5. The Comparison view isn't working as expected
In the **Compare** tab:
- select two shots from the selection bar, or use the rating filters to narrow the list;
- use the zoom gesture on one of the two images: the other will follow automatically (synchronized zoom);
- if the behavior is unclear, try:
  - resetting the zoom (double tap or pinch-in gesture),
  - changing the two images and trying again.
If you continue to see anomalies, take a screenshot and send it to support (see "Contact Us").
### 6. The app seems slow with many RAW files
Classiphy is optimized to handle **hundreds of images** by working on compressed thumbnails.
If you notice slowdowns:
- assure you have enough free storage space on your device;
- close other memory-heavy background apps;
- avoid importing from multiple sources simultaneously.
In case of persistent issues, write to us indicating:
- your iPhone model,
- iOS version,
- approximate number of shots in your folder.
### 7. I changed a rating by mistake
Classiphy features an **undo** function that lets you revert your recent actions, including:
- rating changes,
- rotations,
- mirroring,
- image deletions.
To undo: open the **Floating FAB** menu and tap the **undo** button (backward circular arrow). Your most recent action will be reversed, and any affected image will be restored appropriately.
### 8. The vertical rating dots in the FAB aren't updating
The **5 vertical dots** inside the Floating FAB always show the current image's rating and update automatically. If you notice visual lag:
- verify you're still looking at the same image in the Classification view;
- you can try directly tapping the dots to change the rating from the menu itself.

1. From the main screen, open the **Floating FAB**.
2. Tap the `+` button to create a new folder.
3. Assign a name, set a color-coded **priority** (green, yellow, red), and confirm.
4. Select the folder to start importing images right away.
### Importing a Job from Photo Library or Files
- **From Photo Library**:
  1. In the selected folder, open the FAB and choose "Import from Photos".
  2. Select your shots via the iOS Photo Picker.
- **From Files / External Drive**:
  1. In the selected folder, choose "Import from Files".
  2. Use the document picker to navigate your folders, external drives, or linked cloud services.
  3. Select your images and confirm.
Import progress is shown via an in-app bar and a **Live Activity** on the Dynamic Island/Lock Screen.
### Classifying and Filtering Photos
1. In the **Classification** tab, swipe through images one by one in full screen.
2. Use the **rating dock** to assign 0 to **5 stars** with a tap or drag.
3. Alternatively, use the **5 vertical dots** in the Floating FAB to change the rating without opening menus.
4. If necessary, rotate or mirror images via quick tools.
5. Sort images by **name** or **capture date** from the FAB menu.
6. Apply **rating filters** from the FAB menu to focus only on your best shots.
7. Use the **undo** button to revert accidental actions.
### Comparing Two Shots Side-by-Side
1. Switch to the **Compare** tab.
2. Select the images via the selection bar or rating filters.
3. **Zoom** in on one of the photos: the other will perfectly sync.
4. Use this view to decide between vastly similar shots (e.g., slight expression changes, focus micro-adjustments).
### Creating a Final Sequence in the Filtered Workspace
1. Switch to the **Workspace** tab.
2. The Workspace automatically isolates photos matching the highest rating given in that folder. You can tweak this filter anytime from the menu.
3. Star ratings remain visible below each thumbnail for quick reference.
4. Drag images onto the **free canvas** in any order you desire.
5. Every selected shot displays an **order number** badge on its thumbnail.
6. Use the **grid alignment** button to neatly tidy up the layout.
7. When you are satisfied with the sequence, launch the **export**:
   - images will be saved in your **new custom order**, in their **original formats**.
